Permanent Hair Removal | The Aesthetic Studio Clinic Singapore

DARE TO BE BARE?
The Aesthetic Studio Clinic Singapore introduces a safe and effective solution for permanent hair reduction using Broad Band Light – BBL Hair Removal.

Permanent Hair Removal

Unwanted and unsightly hair is a common problem that plagues both men and women, and may be preventing you wearing your favorite swimsuit, sundress, shorts or tank tops. Men may feel self-consciousness when taking off your shirt at the beach. Imagine never having to deal with or worry about any of your unwanted body or facial hair again.

Intense pulsed light (IPL) systems are now acknowledged as the most convenient, comfortable and effective method of permanent hair reduction.

BBL HAIR REMOVAL
Sciton BBL ® hair removal uses a broadband light (IPL) to gently remove unwanted hair, putting an end to routine shaving and waxing. This advanced technology transcends the older, painful hair removal treatments to deliver long-lasting results. The Sciton BBL ® treats more than one hair at a time, making it possible to treat both small areas on the face as well as lager areas such as back, chest, shoulders, arms, and legs.

A detailed pre-treatment consultation with our doctor will determine the most suitable hair removal method to suit each individual and treatments are customized for optimal results.

The Procedure
In the interest of safety, our doctors perform all our treatments personally.

Tanning must be avoided for 4 weeks prior to treating fine hair with BBL. Also refrain from using tanning lotions for 2 weeks prior to the procedure for best results.

The hair will be clipped or shaved prior to beginning treatment. This allows the optimum amount of light to pass through the skin and be absorbed by the hair bulb in the follicle. Hair needs to be present in the follicle for laser or BBL treatments to be most effective. Since waxing or plucking pulls hair out of the follicle, recently waxed or plucked areas will not be suitable for treatment.

Most patients describe the procedure as virtually painless; discomfort if any, should feel no worse than the snap of a rubber band. For sensitive areas our patients are offered topical anesthetic cream, applied generously 30 min prior to the scheduled treatment.

It is important to highlight to us beforehand if you are taking any medications that could make you light sensitive such as certain antibiotics or herbal medicines. Recent sun exposure must always be discussed prior to each treatment.

The unwanted hair begins to fall out over one to two weeks. Keep the treated area clean, use a least SPF 35 sunscreen when outdoors, and do not suntan while undergoing treatments. You may shave the treated area after 3 days following a BBL hair removal treatment. Do not pluck or wax or use a chemical exfoliant between treatments. Do NOT shave or trim the treated area for the first 3 days.

If the treated area is irritated the area should not be rubbed with a face cloth or towel. Avoid scrubbing. The area should be patted dry. You can return to normal activities immediately after your treatments.

THE RESULTS
You may need to be treated from 6-8 times at intervals of 4-6 weeks.

There are three phases of hair growth - anagen, catagen and telogen. BBL eliminates the hair that is currently in an active growth cycle (anagen) so multiple treatments are necessary over a time span (4-6 week intervals) to remove hair from most areas. Duration of hair growth cycles vary with the location on the body and some larger areas of the body may need a few extra treatments.

The average person will see an approximately 50% reduction in hair growth after three light-based hair removal sessions and up to an 80% lasting reduction after six to eight treatments (results vary). After you have completed a series of four to six treatments, any remaining hair will usually be much finer and lighter in color.

Coarse black hair requires from 3-8 laser treatments (6-8 is average) to each treatment area for long lasting, optimal results. Finer, light-colored hair needs more treatments as less of the light energy is absorbed in each session by the hair follicle.

SIDE EFFECTS
You may experience mild reddening of the skin that will usually subside within a few hours. Cold compresses may be applied if the skin feels warm to touch but avoid applying ice to the area. Swelling, blistering or temporary changes in the color of your skin may occur in rare instances. Contact our clinic immediately should this happen.

COSTS
The cost is determined according to the size of the area to be treated. Compared to other hair removal methods, BBL hair removal can actually be far more economical both financially and time-wise.

Acne Treatment Singapore | BBL Blue Light is Safe, Gentle and Effective

BBL Blue Light treatments for Acne is an Advanced, Effective treatment that is perfect for sensitive skins.

WHAT IS ACNE?
Acne vulgaris (or acne) is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the sebaceous gland present in the skin. Acne is a common term for comedones and milia (blackheads and whiteheads), papules (pinheads), pustules (pimples) and nodules. Large nodules are sometimes called “cysts” or “boils”, and the term nodulocystic is used to describe severe cases of inflammatory acne. Cystic acne affects deeper skin tissue than does common acne and typically appears on the buttocks, groin, armpit areas, chest, neck and back. Sometimes acne cysts may develop on the face. Scarring may develop if the lesions are not adequately or appropriately treated. In addition, there is a significant negative psychological effect on patients and severe acne may seriously affect the self-esteem and quality of life.

Does Acne occur only in teenagers?
Acne is more common in the age group of 13 - 30 years but it may occur or persist even beyond this age limit. Males are more frequently affected than females.

What is BBL Blue Light Treatment for Acne?
The Sciton® BBL Blue Light (420nm BBL Acne phototherapy) technology is one of the most effective acne therapies available today. Utilizing the short wavelengths in the blue-light spectrum, this treatment painlessly destroys the propionibacterium acnes bacteria on the skin surface and in the sebaceous glands, killing the bacteria that cause Acne. It diminishes active breakouts, allows faster healing of the skin and prevents future breakouts.

Does it work on all types of acne?
BBL Acne Phototherapy works on mild to severe inflammatory acne and is ideal for treating the redness associated with mild to moderate acne and cystic acne.

How many treatments are required?
Results are seen within three to four weeks. A typical treatment regimen consists of a series of treatments delivered twice a week over a 4-week period, or until the breakouts are under control. Each treatment takes about 10-15 minutes. Our doctors will recommend the correct duration and timing of your treatments based on your skin's condition.

As a guide, 3 treatments can potentially result in a 70% improvement in acne, and by 6 treatments a 90% improvement can be achieved.

How does Blue Light Treatment differ from other acne treatments?
The Sciton® BBL Blue Light (420nm) technology is one of the most effective acne therapies available today. In many cases, utilizing this treatment method can help our patients avoid the need for aggressive oral medications or long-term antibiotics.

BBL Blue Light treatments are gentle enough for the treatment of Acne in patients with sensitive skin and atopic dermatitis. It is a safe and effective solution for patients who are unable to tolerate harsh drying topical products or procedures, or who are too sensitive for aggressive laser treatments, as well as patients who are intolerant to oral medications.

BBL Blue Light treatments can be further enhanced by combination with specially selected light chemical peels, suitable patients.

" BBL Blue Light Acne Treatments are effective yet gentle enough even for sensitive skins and patients with concurrent Eczema and Atopic Dermatitis."
